Middle School (6th-8th)

St. Michael Catholic School provides a balance between spiritual growth, academic excellence and full participation in activities within a program directed at the growth of the whole person. The Middle School curriculum at St. Michael Catholic School includes Religion, Math, Science, Reading/Language Arts, History, Spanish, Art, Computer, Physical Education and chosen electives.

TECHNOLOGY - Each classroom, 6th - 8th, has a SmartBoard, two computers and a printer. In addition, Middle School students attend computer class in the Dell Lab and use the Mobile Mac Lab in a variety of ways in the classroom.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE -Middle School students use the acclaimed Rosetta Stone Classroom software that develops comprehension, pronunciation, listening, writing and conversation skills of the Spanish language in addition to classroom instruction.

ELECTIVES- Our robust elective program includes Flight and Rocketry, Math Minds, Yearbook, Creative Art, Literary Magazine, Operation Conservation, Prep Bowl, Speech Team, Choir and Spanish Culture.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT - Advanced placement Honors in Math and Science classes are in place for both 7th and 8th grade.

COMPETITIONS - Middle School students compete in a variety of academic competitions including Speech Tournaments, Prep Bowl, Mock Trial, Science Fairs, Spelling Bees and more.

FINE ARTS - All students in grades 6th - 8th have Art classes weekly with the option for 7th and 8th grade to expand their exposure to Fine Arts through electives.

SERVICE - The National Junior Beta Club spearheads all service projects on a school-wide basis. Beta Club service projects have included Christmas Toy Drives, Operation Rice Bowl, Candy Cane Grams, Be Green/Wear Jeans, Operation Afghanistan and Canned Food Drives.

NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY - Students in NJHS promote leadership and citizenship at St. Michael Catholic School. Membership in NJHS is based on outstanding scholarship, leadership and service.

STUDY SKILLS - A focused program to aid students in the development of effective study skills is incorporated into the curriculum for 4th - 8th grade.

HIGH SCHOOL ADMISSION - St. Michael graduates are accepted into the premiere private and public schools of their choice.
