The mission of our library media center is to support the goals of the school, church and the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston by providing an exemplary library program for our children that ultimately will contribute to the development of the whole person ~ heart, mind, and spirit. The St. Michael Library Media Center serves students, faculty, staff, and parents and is an active center for learning in our school. Besides holding regularly scheduled classes for circulation of books, library and study skills instruction, and research, we also hold many special events such as faculty meetings, receptions, and student parties in the library.
The goals of the library are to:
- Encourage a love for reading and books
- Create a library media center that is the heart of the school
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers and parents to provide best practices in education and basic world knowledge for each child
-
Provide instruction in information literacy through integration of technology and information skills

Library Hours
The Library serves its students, faculty, and other patrons Monday through Friday from 7:45 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. However, many days throughout the year with prior notification, our library is open beyond the closing time for special research projects and recreational activities as well as to occasionally offer a space for tutoring of students.
Each week students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade visit the library for checking-out books and for story time and/or library/study skills instruction. Flexible scheduling is also available for students to do research with or without teachers, to receive certain subject area instruction, and for special student recreational activities.
