As you may know, Pope Francis recently called for a "World Day of Prayer for the Care and Creation" to be celebrated annually on September 1, in line with the Orthodox Church's day for the protection of the environment.
Our school community celebrated this day in a special way when our Kindergarten students beautifully performed "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" during our Tuesday morning assembly prayer. A colorful art display created by our 1st - 3rd grade students served as their backdrop. Their artwork of the Earth, surrounded by their handprints, showed ways that our students can take care of all God's creations and how to be good stewards of the Earth.
It was a very special way to celebrate this international day of prayer!
