Thank you for your continued support and patience throughout this unique and challenging year for Parish Sports.
Because the health and safety of our parishioners and school community members continues to be our top priority, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Parish Sports Spring season.
It is my hope that as faithful and resilient Tigers, we can continue to come together to support one another during these challenging times. I anxiously await the safe return of Parish Sports in the 2021/22 academic year.
Again, we thank you for your continued support.
Go Tigers!
Coach Grech
St. Michael offers Parish Sports to help children build friendships, confidence, teamwork, and self-esteem through sports. We offer soccer, baseball and softball for children in grades PreK – 5th, and basketball for children in Kinder – 5th grade. The Parish Sports program builds a strong foundation of athletic ability and game understanding in a fun, safe environment. We encourage participation by providing a safe and welcoming place with friends to play a sport for the first time, or a sport they have loved for years!
Parish Sports participates in the West Houston Christian Sports Association League that is comprised of more than 30 schools and churches across the city. All teams are coached by parent volunteers and play eight games during the season, with games on Saturdays. Each team will have a minimum of one practice per week on the St. Michael campus. Each player will receive a uniform, team and individual pictures, and a trophy at the end of the season!
Volunteers: Coaches are selected by SMCS based on past experience, demonstrated interest, and commitment to the children. Ability to teach the sport is also considered. We are grateful to all our parent volunteers that dedicate their time to work with our young participants. As we continue to grow, we are always looking for new volunteers to help coach each season. If you are interested in volunteering to be a coach in any capacity, you must be certified by Safe Haven. This is a new program that has replaced Virtus. **If you still have time remaining on your Virtus certification, you will not be required to take Safe Haven until it has expired.
Please follow the instructions below to take the online course.
